Enigmatic. That's the word that always describes the Mona Lisa, especially her smile. At first glance, you will just see a lady in a painting. Her plain face is beautiful, but for me, it is not that mysterious at all.
The Mona Lisa which was painted by Leonado da Vinci in the 1500s is a truly remarkable one. It is even said that it is the most famous painting in Western art history. Some part of me don't get why there are a lot of theories behind the smile. Any way I look at it, it still looks the same. For me, her smile is not that much like a smile at all. It seems like it is just a small curve of her lips. Some even say that her eyes follow you. I believe that it is only an illusion that was created by da Vinci.
The first time I saw the painting, I never thought about any of those mysteries. But when I watched some documentaries on this, my mind expanded. Though I can't help but think, why do these people make a very great deal out of this painting? I say, just enjoy this masterpiece by a splendid virtuoso.
